Ian Pullan’s Insightful Experience at Google Digital Garage Workshop

We’re thrilled to share that our own Digital Marketing Manager, Ian Pullan, recently attended an exclusive, all-day Google Digital Garage workshop. This unique event was an incredible opportunity for local businesses in Southend-on-Sea, made possible by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The Setting: Holiday Inn Southend

The workshop was hosted on Friday, 24th November 2023, at the Holiday Inn Southend. Known for its first-rate facilities, the hotel provided a perfect setting in the Laker suite. The suite was an ideal location, offering a comfortable breakout area for attendees to enjoy lunch and refreshments.

A Day of Comprehensive Learning

The day commenced with a warm welcome and registration, accompanied by morning tea and biscuits. This set the stage for an immersive learning experience, starting with a session on ‘Digital Marketing Strategy‘. This session was particularly enlightening, as it focused on the latest trends and techniques in the digital realm, vital for any business seeking to stay ahead in the online marketplace.

Following a short break, attendees dived into ‘Getting Started with Google Analytics’. This session was a deep dive into the world of web traffic analysis. Understanding user behaviour and tracking performance metrics is critical for any digital marketing strategy, and this session provided practical insights into leveraging Google Analytics for business growth.

Post-lunch, the workshop shifted gears to focus on ‘Digital Advertising‘. This session covered the various aspects of online advertising, including search engine marketing and social media advertising. Ian found this part of the day particularly useful, gaining insights into how to effectively reach target audiences and convert leads into sales.

The final session, ‘Getting Your Business Visible on Google’, was a comprehensive look at enhancing a business’s online presence. This involved understanding search engine optimisation (SEO) and how to optimise business listings on Google. The day concluded with a chance to interact with Google advisors on a one-to-one basis, addressing specific marketing challenges.
